James HazardJames has always had an interest in all technical aspects of livestock breeding and genetics. After gaining a distinction for National Diploma in Agriculture, he worked in France for six months gaining numerous industry contacts and is able to speak French.

On his return to the family farm, James assisted in promoting the Mereside pedigree cattle into over 15 countries outside the UK.

James is Chairman of the East Midlands Limousin Cattle Breeders Club and is the youngest member to have sat on the Limousin Council of Management. James is a respected judge having judged local, regional and National shows across the UK and Ireland.

James is a shareholder and one of the founders of the company TL Biolabs, who from their base in California have massively increase the speed of selective breeding by leveraging insights provided by genomics. The company provides an end-to-end solution based on its proprietary micro-array technology to enable farmers to geno-type cows for a fraction of the cost of existing solutions.

The company’s vertically integrated system is customisable, built specifically with agriculture in mind, manufacturing their own chips, running tests, analysis, and presenting the results in an easy to understand software platform.
